As CEO & President of Emigrant Partners, Jenny sets the firm’s strategic direction and oversees a team responsible for providing capital and advice to the leading wealth and asset managers in which Emigrant has invested, as well as making new platform investments and sub-acquisitions for Emigrant’s partner firms.
Jenny has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including wealth management, institutional asset management, and investment banking. Prior to assuming the CEO role, Jenny spent four years leading EP’s Strategic Advisory efforts, working closely with Partner Firm leadership on a variety of growth opportunities and business initiatives.
Prior to joining EP, Jenny was a Senior Vice President responsible for Affiliate Management at BrightSphere Investment Group (NYSE: BSIG, formerly Old
Mutual Asset Management), a $200 billion multi-boutique asset management company. Prior to BSIG, Jenny was Director of M&A and Strategic Planning at BNY Mellon Wealth Management. As an investment banker at Berkshire Capital Corporation and Canaccord Adams, Jenny executed M&A and raised public and private capital for financial services firms and consumer companies. Jenny holds a B.A. from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Liz serves as Vice Chair of Emigrant Bank and Chair of Emigrant Partners. In these roles, she collaborates with affiliates providing solutions to the wealth management industry, including Emigrant Partners (the earliest minority investor to the asset & wealth management industry), New York Private Trust, Sarasota Private Trust, Cleveland Private Trust, Summitas, and Personal Risk Management Solutions. Additionally, Liz is a member of the Emigrant Partners’ Investment Committee, contributing to strategic investment decisions.
With over 30 years of experience as an advisor, investment banker, and entrepreneur, Liz specializes in mergers and acquisitions, succession and liquidity planning, strategic advisory, compensation structuring, in-depth financial and business analysis, and organic growth consulting. In 2007, she founded Silver Lane, a boutique investment bank that consistently ranked as a leading M&A advisor to the wealth and asset management industry. In 2019, Liz and her partners sold Silver Lane to a Fortune 500 company, and in 2024, Liz marked her transition from investment banking to direct investor in the industries she has long served.
A dedicated advocate and mentor for women in financial services, Liz was described by Mergers & Acquisitions magazine as “the most experienced female investment banker serving the investment management and securities industry.” She received the M&A Advisor’s Leadership Award in 2021 and was inducted into the M&A Hall of Fame. Liz was recognized as a Woman to Watch by InvestmentNews in 2019.
Liz began her career at Berkshire Capital, providing M&A and strategic advisory services to Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). There, she co-founded the investment banking industry’s first specialist M&A practice serving wealth management firms.

Mark Bruno is Managing Director, Head of Strategic Advisory, for Emigrant Partners, where he is primarily responsible for helping its partner firms identify and execute on opportunities to accelerate their growth. Prior to joining Emigrant in October 2023, Mark spent more than 20 years working across the wealth and asset management industries with a particular focus on developing and delivering research, events and consulting platforms to growth-oriented RIAs. Mark most recently served as the Managing Director of the Wealth Management Group at Informa, where he oversaw the group’s media, research and events businesses and launched the unit’s RIA Edge podcast, research studies, and nationwide events.
Before Informa, Mark was a Managing Director at Echelon Partners, a leading investment bank and consulting firm to the wealth management community. Mark also spent more than ten years at InvestmentNews, where he oversaw the company’s digital businesses, RIA events and RIA benchmarking studies. He has been a fixture on the wealth management event circuit for the past decade, and is also the author of Save Now or Die Trying, one of the top-selling retirement planning books shortly after it was published in 2007.

Jason is a Managing Director & Head of Investments for Emigrant Partners, where he is primarily responsible for identifying new platform investments and supporting EP partner firms’ inorganic growth efforts. Jason has a wealth of experience and has spent the majority of his career investing in financial services companies. Most recently, Jason was a Senior Principal at TowerBrook Capital Partners, a private equity firm with over $20B of AUM, where he was responsible for leading investments across the financial services industry. Prior to that, Jason was an investment professional at Onex Partners, Lightyear Capital, and Aquiline Capital, where he invested in and worked alongside successful businesses in wealth management, asset management, TAMPS/WealthTech, retirement services, insurance and employee benefits, as well as a broad range of tech-enabled service providers. Jason earned a B.A. in economics from Cornell.

Jamie is the General Counsel and a Managing Director of Emigrant Partners. He is a corporate attorney with over 24 years of experience in managing mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fund formation and other complex transactions. Prior to Emigrant Partners, Jamie was a partner at a boutique law firm focused on representing asset managers and family offices in private equity transactions and related matters. In addition, he has served as senior in-house counsel for private equity fund managers and asset management groups. Jamie graduated from McGill University in Montréal with two law degrees with Great Distinction, and an MBA.

Karl is a Director on the Investments team at Emigrant Partners, where he is primarily responsible for identifying new platform investments and supporting EP partner firms’ inorganic growth efforts. Prior to Emigrant Partners, Karl was an investment banker at Raymond James and Silver Lane Advisors covering the wealth and asset management sectors and their technology service providers. The majority of his time was spent on M&A advisory for wealth management firms. Before investment banking, Karl worked at BASF, a leading chemical company, in a variety of different finance roles in the U.S. and Germany including M&A. Karl earned his B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in finance and healthcare management & policy.

Kyle Gentile joins Emigrant as Director of Research & Consulting where he will work with our partner firms to help execute on their strategic vision and plans, with a specific focus around organic growth, human capital, and efficiency. He has spent nearly two decades in the wealth management industry, most recently working at Transform Wealth, a $3.2B RIA headquartered in Denver, CO where he led Growth & Strategy across the firm in addition to overseeing Transform’s investment management TAMP business. Prior to Transform, Kyle spent nearly a decade at Focus Financial Partners as a member of the firm’s M&A and Consulting team. Kyle lives on Long Island with his wife, Beth and their 3-year-old son, Asher as well as their Australian Shepherd, Ajax.

Justin is the Associate General Counsel and Director of Emigrant Partners. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Justin was an associate at two international law firms where he advised sponsors, borrowers and creditors in private equity transactions, various financing arrangements and debt restructurings. Justin received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Aonghus is a Vice President at Emigrant Partners, focused on investments, financing, and portfolio monitoring for partner firms. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Aonghus was a Vice President in the Fund Operations group at KKR & Co., Inc. where he focused on the daily operations associated with private markets funds. Before joining KKR & Co., Inc., Aonghus held finance roles at large financial institutions which include Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas. Aonghus started his career at KPMG in the Financial Services Audit group where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Aonghus is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Galway in Ireland.

Ryan is a Vice President on the Investments team at Emigrant Partners, where he is primarily responsible for identifying new platform investments and supporting EP partner firms' inorganic growth efforts. With a career focused on driving the success of companies within the asset and wealth management industries, Ryan brings deep experience in both organic and inorganic growth strategies. Prior to Emigrant Partners, Ryan was an Engagement Manager at Indefi, where he co-launched the firm’s New York business and led strategic advisory engagements for some of the asset and wealth management industry’s leading firms. Earlier in his career, Ryan served as a Vice President on the Strategy & Business Development team at J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, where he spearheaded both organic growth and M&A efforts for the business. Ryan started his career as a strategy consultant at Casey Quirk–Deloitte after earning a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College.

Francesca is a Senior Associate on the Investments team at Emigrant Partners, where she focuses on new platform investments and supporting partner firms’ inorganic growth initiatives. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, she worked in the Direct Private Equity team at CPP Investments, sourcing and executing deals in the financial services sector, and in the Investment Banking group at Scotiabank. Francesca holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a licensed CPA in Ontario.

Kevin is an Associate at Emigrant Partners, focused on investments and strategic advisory for partner firms. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Kevin was a Senior Associate at KPMG within its Deal Advisory and Strategy practice. He assisted on a wide range of M&A transactions, focusing on due diligence and performance improvement across multiple industries. Kevin holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Lehigh University and is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.

Farana Clavien is Chief of Staff at Emigrant Partners supporting the CEO and Senior Leadership across the team, driving strategic initiatives and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Farana was an Executive Assistant at TowerBrook Capital Partners. Farana holds a B.A. in Communication Arts/ Marketing from Marymount Manhattan College.

Lauren Brand is the Executive Assistant to the Chair of Emigrant Partners and the Vice Chair of Emigrant Bank. Lauren has over 15 years of experience and a diverse background in the financial services industry. Previously holding multiple positions at an asset management firm and as an executive assistant at a well-known investment bank, Lauren brings a ‘wealth’ of knowledge to her current role. Lauren earned a B.A. in Organizational Communication at the University of Central Florida and, as a health and fitness enthusiast, is a certified Pilates instructor.

Howard Milstein is Chairman and CEO of New York Private Bank & Trust, Milstein Properties, and various Milstein brothers operations throughout New York and Chicago. Mr. Milstein is a Founding Partner of FriedbergMilstein, an alternative asset investment manager.
His civic and philanthropic efforts include Chairman of American Skin Association, Trustee Emeritus and Presidential Counsellor of Cornell University, Overseer of Cornell Medical College, among others. He is a member of the Harvard Law School Visiting Committee and of the Executive Committee of the HLS Dean’s Advisory Board. Mr. Milstein earned a BA in Economics, summa cum laude, from Cornell University and earned JD/MBA degrees from Harvard University.

Barry Friedberg is Co-Chairman of the Board of NYPB&T. He has served as a member of the Board since 2004.
Prior to joining the Board of Emigrant Bank, Mr. Friedberg was Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Committee at Merrill Lynch for more than 10 years. From 1985 through 1993, Mr. Friedberg was head of the Global Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch. In 1985, when Mr. Friedberg assumed these responsibilities, Merrill Lynch was ranked 6th or lower in the debt, equity, and M&A league tables. By the end of Mr. Friedberg’s period of leadership, Merrill Lynch was #1 in the league tables for all of these products. Mr. Friedberg’s responsibilities also included oversight of the investment activities of Merrill Lynch which included approximately $1 billion of private equity investments and approximately $1.5 billion of leveraged financing for middle market companies.
