Our team has extensive experience in the wealth and asset management markets. With functional backgrounds in strategy, finance, investment banking, private equity, and corporate and M&A law, the EP team has the relevant experience and skillsets to provide guidance and support to our partner firms.
As President & CEO of Emigrant Partners, Jenny sets the firm’s strategic direction and oversees a team responsible for providing capital and advice to the leading wealth and alternative asset managers in which Emigrant has invested, as well as making new platform investments and sub-acquisitions for Emigrant’s partner firms. Jenny has 20 years of experience in financial services, including institutional asset management, wealth management and investment banking. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Jenny was a Senior Vice President responsible for Affiliate Management at BrightSphere Investment Group (NYSE: BSIG, formerly Old Mutual Asset Management), a $200 billion multi-boutique asset management company. Prior to BSIG, Jenny was Director of M&A and Strategic Planning at BNY Mellon Wealth Management. As an investment banker at Berkshire Capital Corporation and Canaccord Adams, Jenny executed M&A and raised public and private capital for financial services firms and consumer companies. Jenny holds a B.A. from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
As CFO, Alex is responsible for the operational and financial aspects of the business. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Alex was at Focus Financial Partners developing and implementing an innovative IPO structure. Before Focus, he was on the finance team at Kohlberg Kravis & Roberts. From 2006-12 Alex was with Strategic Value Partners, where he structured and restructured investments in a variety of specialized global assets including power plants, commercial aircraft, real estate, health care facilities and manufacturing companies. Alex graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and has a master’s degree from NYU School of Law.
Jamie is the General Counsel and a Managing Director of Emigrant Partners. He is a corporate attorney with over 21 years of experience in managing mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fund formation and other complex transactions. Prior to Emigrant Partners, Jamie was a partner at a boutique law firm focused on representing asset managers and family offices in private equity transactions and related matters. In addition, he has served as senior in-house counsel for private equity fund managers and asset management groups. Jamie graduated from McGill University in Montréal with two law degrees with Great Distinction, and an MBA.
Yves is a Managing Director at Emigrant Partners, focused on the sourcing and origination of partnerships on behalf of both Emigrant Partners and our M&A focused partner firms. Yves has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, including serving as a Special Advisor to Kudu Investment Management, a NY based investment manager that takes minority stakes in alternative asset and wealth managers.
Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Yves has held leadership positions in various financial institutions including as Board member, Managing Director and Global Head of Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Trading, Sales, and Research at Exotix Partners, a Global Investment Banking Firm, Managing Director, Co-head of Strategic Finance and Solutions at Mizuho International, Managing Director Head of European Fixed Income at Royal Bank of Scotland, and Director at Deutsche Bank, Alternative Investment Group.
Yves also has supported with the strategy and business development of Aureana, Concise Capital & Unison AM, partners of CGM, a strategic investor in alternative asset management firms.
Yves graduated from the University of Aix/Marseille with concentrations in economics and marketing.
Pat is a Managing Director at Emigrant Partners, focused on investments and strategic development for partner firms. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Pat was a Senior Associate at Wafra, a $25+ billion AUM private equity and alternative investment management firm, where he focused primarily on the firm’s GP stakes and seeding private equity strategy. Prior to Wafra, Pat was a Strategy Management Consultant at Casey Quirk – Deloitte, where he led consulting engagements for a wide array of asset and wealth management firms. Pat earned a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.
Daniel is an Associate at Emigrant Partners, focused on investments and strategic development for partner firms. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Daniel was a Senior Consultant at Casey Quirk – Deloitte, a strategic management consulting practice focused exclusively on the Asset & Wealth Management industry. During his tenure, Daniel led engagements for a wide array of asset and wealth management firms with a specific focus on M&A advisory, incentive scheme design, and investment capability expansion. Daniel earned a B.S. in Economics from Trinity College.
Justin is the Associate General Counsel and Director of Emigrant Partners. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Justin was an associate at two international law firms where he advised sponsors, borrowers and creditors in private equity transactions, various financing arrangements and debt restructurings. Justin received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Ryan is an Associate at Emigrant Partners, focused on investments and strategic development for partner firms. Prior to joining Emigrant Partners, Ryan was an Engagement Manager at Indefi, a strategy consultancy dedicated to the global asset management industry, where he co-launched the firm's New York business and executed engagements for the industry's leading firms. Before joining Indefi, Ryan was a Vice President on the Strategy & Business Development team at J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management. Ryan started his career at Casey Quirk – Deloitte after earning a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College.
Ana is a business and marketing analyst at Emigrant Partners, focused on the strategic development of our partner firms. Ana has experience in marketing research and advisor development at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Ana earned a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Miami.
Howard Milstein is Chairman and CEO of New York Private Bank & Trust, Milstein Properties, and various Milstein brothers operations throughout New York and Chicago. Mr. Milstein is a Founding Partner of FriedbergMilstein, an alternative asset investment manager.
His civic and philanthropic efforts include Chairman of American Skin Association, Trustee Emeritus and Presidential Counsellor of Cornell University, Overseer of Cornell Medical College, among others. He is a member of the Harvard Law School Visiting Committee and of the Executive Committee of the HLS Dean’s Advisory Board. Mr. Milstein earned a BA in Economics, summa cum laude, from Cornell University and earned JD/MBA degrees from Harvard University.
Barry Friedberg is Co-Chairman of the Board of NYPB&T. He has served as a member of the Board since 2004.
Prior to joining the Board of Emigrant Bank, Mr. Friedberg was Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Committee at Merrill Lynch for more than 10 years. From 1985 through 1993, Mr. Friedberg was head of the Global Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch. In 1985, when Mr. Friedberg assumed these responsibilities, Merrill Lynch was ranked 6th or lower in the debt, equity, and M&A league tables. By the end of Mr. Friedberg’s period of leadership, Merrill Lynch was #1 in the league tables for all of these products. Mr. Friedberg’s responsibilities also included oversight of the investment activities of Merrill Lynch which included approximately $1 billion of private equity investments and approximately $1.5 billion of leveraged financing for middle market companies. He also, in 1985, initiated:
(i) the first private placement effort at a Wall Street firm to place limited partnership interests on behalf of financial sponsor clients
(ii) the first effort by a Wall Street firm to provide as a principal a bridge loan to support an unsolicited buy out when Comcast bid for Storer Broadcasting.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Friedberg was head of the Merger & Acquisition Group of AG Becker, which Merrill Lynch acquired in 1984.
Mr. Friedberg is Chairman Emeritus and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New York City Ballet and is a member of its Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors, Executives Committee, and Investment Committee of Scan Harbor and The Glaucoma Foundation.
Mr. Friedberg is a graduate of Princeton University (BA, 1962) and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Bill Staudt is Vice Chairman of Emigrant Bank and Partner at Emigrant Capital Corporation. Prior to Emigrant, Mr. Staudt was founding Managing Partner of Environmental Capital Partners, as well as Managing Partner of Hamilton Capital Partners, which sponsored leveraged buyouts of middle-market companies in the United States and Sweden.
He has substantial management experience, most recently as President and CEO of Sirit Inc. and formerly as President of Hamilton Development Corporation. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of Nicklaus Companies and Fiduciary Network. Mr. Staudt received a BA in Economics from Yale University and a JD from University of Michigan Law School.
Andy Augenblick is the President of Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance. Prior to co-founding the company, he was President and Co-Owner of Related Companies, a privately held real estate and investment company. Before joining the Related Companies in 1985, he was a Consultant at McKinsey & Company.
In addition, Mr. Augenblick was named one of the Top 100 Collectors in the United States by Art & Antiques Magazine. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School.
